Argentina face the prospect of an early exit from the Copa America in Brazil when they face Qatar at 9:00 pm at Gremio Arena in Group B.
Colombia top the table with 6 points, followed by Paraguay in second place with two points, while Qatar are third with one point, four points behind fourth-placed Argentina.
In the case of Argentina’s draw with Qatar, Lionel Messi’s comrades will have to lose Paraguay by two or more goals to take third place in the group. No team in Group C is expected to finish third place with 3 points or more.
Argentina need to win Colombia or draw Paraguay in the third round to secure a place in the second round without waiting for teams in other teams, provided they win Qatar.
But if Argentina lose to Qatar, it will officially leave the tournament and will be the biggest surprise in the tournament which ends on July 7.
Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia and Chile have confirmed their quarter-finals in the Copa America.
